2018 Fraud Prevention Day at Valencia Lakes

Our Community Outreach team, along with AUSAs Simon Gaugush and Jennifer Peresie, participated in Fraud Prevention Day at the Valencia Lakes Community Center in Wimauma.  More than 450 members of the 55+ community attended the event. In addition to the USAO presentation on “Fraud Prevention,” our fellow law enforcement partners presented on topics including investment fraud, insurance fraud, identity theft, identifying and avoiding scams, and dealing with unlicensed contractors. Following the presentations, AUSAs Peresie and Gaugush, along with Supervisory Special Agent Ryan Thompson from IRS – Criminal Investigation, answered individual questions from attendees.
