2023 Federal Teen Academy

For a second consecutive year, the U.S. Attorney's Office partnered with the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Homeland Security Investigations, the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the U.S. Marshals Service to deliver the Federal Teen Academy. This year’s academy included participants from Hillsborough, Pinellas, Lee, Orange, and Duval counties. In addition to technical demonstrations, career opportunities, and discussions about the work and mission of various federal law enforcement agencies, USAO-MDFL staff led interactive discussions on effective community partnership strategies and facilitated mock trials. More than 150 MDFL middle and high school students, staff, and mentors attended the two-day event.
