2024 Orange County Fraud Prevention Forum

The USAO-MDFL and the Orange County Community Action Partnership joined forces to deliver a half-day community fraud prevention forum to more than 35 citizens of the Pine Hills community. Featured presenters included Assistant U.S. Attorney Diane Hu, IRS-Supervisory Special Agent Daniel Honan, U.S. Postal Inspector Ed Sanabria, and Deputies Sherrie Lewis and Khayree Pender from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Presenters shared with citizens practical methods and resources to help protect them from various types of fraud, including financial fraud, identity theft, and romance scams. The event was hosted by the Orange County Multicultural Center’s manager Roy Leath Jr. and project manager Shamella Harmon. It was facilitated by USAO Community Outreach Specialist Khalilah Escalera.
