2025 Teen Academy
The U.S. Attorney's Office partnered with the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Homeland Security Investigations, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the U.S. Secret Service to present the 2025 Federal Teen Academy, sponsored by the FBI Tampa Citizen’s Academy Alumni Association.
This year’s academy included participants from Hendry, Hillsborough, Manatee, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, and Seminole counties. In addition to technical demonstrations and insight into career opportunities from various federal law enforcement partners, AUSAs Chris Poor, Charlie Connally, Samantha Beckman, and Jeff Chang led students through legal exercises on how to prepare a case for grand jury and federal prosecution. AUSAs Jackson Boggs, Michael Buchanan, and Community Outreach Coordinator Khalilah Escalera also facilitated workshops on careers with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and provided an overview to students about the grand jury process.
At the conclusion of the two-day event, students received certificates from participating federal agencies for demonstrating their commitment to learning about national security and safety. More than 110 high school students were in attendance, joined by more than 30 staff and volunteers.
