Coast Guard Distinguished Public Service Award
The United States Coast Guard recognized members of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Operation Panama Express (PANEX) South Task Force for their efforts in combating transnational criminal organizations involved in international drug trafficking. Prosecutors, legal assistants, and public affairs personnel were presented with the Coast Guard’s Distinguished Public Service Award during a ceremony in Tampa. The USAO-MDFL and PANEX South form an interagency team that has investigated and prosecuted more than 60 cases from one of the most successful fiscal years in cocaine removal for the Coast Guard, spanning October 1, 2014, to September 30, 2015. Rear Admiral Pat DeQuattro, Deputy Commander, U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Area, along with U.S. Attorney Bentley, presented the awards to the staff on behalf of the Commandant.
