USAO Outreach Team Visits Bridge To Success Academy Middle School In Jacksonville

This week, Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kirwann Mike and Ashley Washington, along with Outreach Specialist Khalilah Escalera, visited Bridge To Success Academy Middle School in Jacksonville to speak with a group of 39 students about the prevalence and impact of violent crime on local communities. 

The students were fully engaged as they discussed recent local incidents involving gun violence, including several involving teens and young adults.  The students also learned about federal prosecutions, consequences of actions, and discussed various ways to work in collaboration with authority figures to keep their peers and neighborhoods safe.

Bridge To Success Academy Middle School principal, Dr. Council, also addressed the students, urging them to be safe and utilize the shared information as the students prepare for their Spring Break holiday.
