Orlando, Florida – United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announces that Jaquisha Durant (31, Orlando) has pleaded guilty to bank fraud. Durant faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
According to the plea agreement, in April 2024, Durant and other scheme participants stole mail from United States Postal Service mailboxes, located debit cards belonging to others in the stolen mail, and activated the stolen debit cards. On April 22 and 23, 2024, Durant used the stolen debit cards to make multiple cash withdrawals from a federal credit union ATM located in Ocoee. She also used the stolen debit cards to make purchases at various retail stores.
This case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Diane Hu.
