U.S. Attorney's Office, Middle District of Florida
Tampa, Florida – United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announces the arrest of Temeko Evans (46, Brandon) and Torrey Taylor (44, Tampa) on an indictment charging them with conspiracy to distribute and distribution of cocaine and 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. If convicted on all counts, each defendant faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years, up to life, in federal prison.
According to the indictment, beginning on an unknown date, but not later than on or about February 11, 2025, and continuing through on or about March 26, 2025, Evans and Taylor knowingly and willfully conspired with each other and other persons to distribute cocaine and 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The indictment further alleges that on February 19, 2025, Evans and Taylor knowingly and willfully distributed cocaine, and on March 26, 2025, they knowingly and willfully distributed 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Tampa Police Department. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jeff Chang.
