Indian Country Law Enforcement Coordination and Outreach – Pueblo of Zuni

Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Nayback and Assistant U.S. Attorney/Tribal Liaison David Adams presented training to the Pueblo of Zuni Police Department, Zuni Social Services, Zuni court staff, and the New Beginning Shelter Program serving victims of domestic violence. The training covered jurisdiction, major crimes, the Violence Against Women Act, report writing, and best practices for intimate partner and sexual assault investigations.  The training was part of the U.S. Attorney’s continuing commitment to strengthening the Office’s government-to-government relationships with New Mexico’s tribes and responses to violent crime throughout New Mexico, including tribal communities.  Victim Witness Specialists with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women, also participated in the training.
