Indictment in United States v. Arthur Perrault, 17-CR-2558 (filed under seal on Sept. 21, 2017; unsealed on Sept. 21, 2018).
On Sept. 21, 2017, a federal grand jury in Albuquerque, N.M., returned a seven-count indictment charging Perrault with sexually abusing a minor while on federally-protected land in the District of New Mexico in 1991 and 1992. The indictment was unsealed on Sept. 21, 2018, after Perrault was extradited from Morocco and was returned to the United States to face the charges in the indictment in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico. The public is reminded that charges in an indictment are merely allegations and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
