Tara Twomey

Tara Twomey was appointed Director of the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees (EOUST) on February 27, 2023. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Twomey was the Executive Director of the National Consumer Bankruptcy Rights Center and Of Counsel to the National Consumer Law Center. She is a former Clinical Instructor and Fellow at the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School and has been a Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School and Boston College Law School. From 2021 to 2023, Ms. Twomey served on the Judicial Conference’s Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules and, in 2021, became a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.

Ms. Twomey earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School, summa cum laude, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego. After law school, she served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Herbert P. Wilkins of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
