Federal Register Notices Regarding Renewal of Credit Counseling and Debtor Education Applications:
As required by the Office of Management and Budget and pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the U.S. Trustee Program has published in the Federal Register two Notices of Agency Information Collection Activities. The Notices pertain to the renewal of the form Instructions, Applications and related Appendices used by Nonprofit Budget and Credit Counseling Agencies and Providers of Personal Financial Management Instructional Courses who apply to become authorized agencies or providers.

Updated Applications, Instructions and Appendices for Credit Counseling and Debtor Education have been posted to the United States Trustee Program’s website. Effective immediately, all applicants must use the updated Application and Appendices when applying for approval or re-approval as a credit counseling agency or debtor education provider. The forms are in effect until September 30, 2025.
