Corporate Enforcement, Compliance, and Policy Unit

An Overview

The Corporate Enforcement, Compliance, and Policy Unit focuses on combating national and international economic crimes by, among other things:

  • coordinating the Section’s vast experience in managing complex and multi-jurisdictional cases in order to strategically fight against sophisticated economic crimes;
  • developing and implementing with the other Units strategic enforcement initiatives to identify and combat emerging white-collar crimes;
  • increasing cooperation between domestic and international law enforcement agencies, as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Offices throughout the nation;
  • advising the Department’s leadership on such matters as anti-fraud legislation, crime prevention, citizen correspondence, and public education;
  • preparing Section guidelines and policies regarding investigative and prosecutorial best practices;
  • assisting prosecutors, regulators, law enforcement and the private sector by providing training, advice and other assistance on white-collar crimes;
  • conducting internal training to strengthen attorneys’ investigative, prosecutorial, and trial skills;
  • advising attorneys on developments in the law and enforcement initiatives; and,
  • assisting prosecutors in the evaluation of corporate compliance programs, compliance-focused remediation efforts, and Monitorships.
