Indonesia: ICITAP Collaborates with OPDAT to Combat Trafficking in Persons in Bali

From June 10 to 11, representatives from ICITAP-Indonesia collaborated with the Department of Justice’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) to provide the second in a series of regional Trafficking in Persons (TIP) workshops which focus on Victim Restitution and Assistance.  The workshop was held in Bali and was attended by ten police investigators and 11 prosecutors from the East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, East Java, and Bali regions of Indonesia.  In addition, presenters included representatives from the Indonesian National Police, the Attorney General’s Office, the Victim & Witness Protection Agency, the International Organization for Migration, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (DHS/HSI), via video call. The two-day workshop was delivered with the support of and in coordination with the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
