Midwest Strike Force
The Midwest Strike Force is a national leader in prosecuting health care fraud, violations of the federal anti-kickback statute, money laundering schemes, and other complex fraud schemes. Together with federal and state law enforcement partners, the Midwest Strike Force works to increase accountability in the health care industry and decrease the presence of fraudulent providers in the Midwest.
Where We Are
The Midwest Strike Force, operating in collaboration with the United States Attorneys’ Offices for the Eastern District of Michigan and the Northern District of Illinois, and with agency partners, has successfully prosecuted health care fraud schemes involving doctors and other medical professionals, medical corporations, telemedicine, diagnostic testing, physical and occupational therapy, pharmacies, laboratories, opioids, prescription drugs, and medical devices, among others. The Strike Force has brought cases involving the defrauding of Medicare and Medicaid, among other health insurance programs, and is a leader in investigations and prosecutions related to telemedicine schemes.
Involvement
The Midwest Strike Force regularly participates in national and regional fraud enforcement actions, including the 2023 National Health Care Fraud Enforcement Action; 2022 Telemedicine, Clinical Laboratories, and DME Enforcement Action; 2021 National Health Care Fraud Enforcement Action; the 2020 National Health Care Fraud and Opioid Enforcement Action; and the 2019 Operation Brace Yourself Enforcement Action.
