Gulf Coast Strike Force
The Gulf Coast Strike Force is a leader in prosecuting health care fraud, kickback, money laundering, and other complex fraud schemes, as well as opioid diversion cases. With bases of operations in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Gulfport, the Gulf Coast Strike Force’s prosecutors and agents are dedicated to rooting out fraud across the region. The Gulf Coast Strike Force employs several experienced prosecutors and works closely with federal and state agency partners, including HHS-OIG, FBI, MFCU, DCIS, IRS-CI, VA-OIG, and others.
Where We Are
The Gulf Coast Strike Force has brought indictments in six federal districts, including the Eastern District of Louisiana, Middle District of Louisiana, Western District of Louisiana, Southern District of Mississippi, Northern District of Mississippi, and Western District of Tennessee. Since its inception, the Gulf Coast Strike Force has charged over 100 defendants with more than $1 billion in intended fraud loss to federal and private health care programs. The Gulf Coast Strike Force recently marked its ten-year anniversary.
Involvement
The Gulf Coast Strike Force regularly participates in nationwide fraud enforcement actions, including the 2022 Nationwide Coordinated Law Enforcement Action to Combat Telemedicine, Clinical Laboratory, and DME Fraud; the 2022 COVID-19 Health Care Fraud Enforcement Action; the 2021 National Health Care Fraud Enforcement Action; and the 2019 Operation Double Helix Enforcement Action.
