Programs
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of California is involved in a number of programs and projects in our community. Some of our major efforts are outlined below.
Community Outreach
The United States Attorney’s Office is committed to maintaining an active dialogue with all of the diverse communities that call the Eastern District of California their home.
Domestic Violence, Child Exploitation, and Human Trafficking Prevention
Resources for prevention of Domestic Violence, Child Exploitation, and Human Trafficking
Hate Crimes Task Forces
The Greater Sacramento Area Hate Crimes Task Force (Sacramento Office) and the Central Valley Hate Crimes Task Force (Fresno Office) consist of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and community organizations dedicated to preventing and combating hate crimes; both are sponsored and administered by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California.
LECC
The Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee sponsors and co-sponsors trainings and seminars for federal, state and local law enforcement agencies addressing a variety of subjects.
Prescription Drug Abuse
Prescription drug abuse is America's fastest growing drug problem, especially among our youth. The consequences can be deadly.
Project Safe Childhood
Project Safe Childhood (PSC) is a Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 that aims to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation crimes against children. The threat of sexual predators soliciting children for physical sexual contact is well-known and serious; the danger of perpetrators who produce, distribute, and possess child pornography is equally dramatic and disturbing.
Project Safe Neighborhoods
Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is a nationwide commitment to reduce gun and gang crime in America by networking existing local programs that target these issues and by providing these programs with additional tools necessary to be successful.
Victim Witness Assistance
Victims of crime may experience feelings of confusion, frustration, fear and anger. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California and the Victim Witness Unit is dedicated to making sure that victims of federal crimes and their family members are treated with compassion, fairness and respect.
