Project Safe Childhood Logo

Project Safe Childhood

Guided by the leadership of the Attorney General, Project Safe Childhood (PSC) aims to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation crimes against children. The threat of sexual predators soliciting children for physical sexual contact is well-known and serious; the danger of the production, distribution, and possession of child pornography is equally dramatic and disturbing. The response to these growing problems must be coordinated, comprehensive, and robust. It must aim to investigate and prosecute vigorously, and protect and assist victimized children. At the same time, it must recognize the need for a broad, community-based effort to protect our children and to guarantee to future generations the opportunities of the American dream.

Prescription Drug Abuse

Kentucky’s U.S. Attorneys Kerry B. Harvey and David J. Hale, in conjunction with the University of Kentucky (UK), hosted Kentucky’s first Prescription Drug Abuse Summit on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. The one-day event was attended by more than 300 health care providers, educators, law enforcement officers, public officials and high school students. The Summit focused on increasing collaboration across a wide array of disciplines to combat prescription drug abuse, one of the Commonwealth’s most urgent, destructive and widespread challenge

HEAT

The mission of the U.S. Attorney’s Heroin Education Action Team (HEAT) is to reduce the growing harm to Kentucky families and communities caused by heroin and opioid abuse by increasing community understanding of this epidemic.
