On May 10, 2023, defendant Alexander Dockery pled guilty to the charges listed below. Any remaining counts will be disposed of at the time of sentencing. As a result of the guilty plea, there will be no trial involving this defendant. Description of Charge(s) Disposition -1, Delay or destruction of mail or newspapers Guilty.

The change of plea previously scheduled for defendant Alexander Dockery on May 2, 2023, 01:30 PM has been rescheduled by the court.  The hearing is rescheduled before Judge Madeline Haikala is scheduled on May 2, 2023, 03:30 PM at Federal Courthouse, Huntsville, AL for the case which involves defendant Alexander Dockery. The purpose of this hearing is for the defendant to enter a plea of guilty. Your attendance is not required. Update 1/17/23

The defendant, Alexander Dockery was indicted by a federal grand jury on January 24, 2023, for COUNT ONE: [18 U.S.C. § 1703(a)] delay or destruction of mail or newspapers.  Between June 1, 2018, and November 30, 2018, in Madison County, within the Northern District of Alabama, the defendant, being an employee of the United States Postal Service, that is a mail handler at the General Mail Facility in Huntsville, Alabama, did knowingly and unlawfully secrete, destroy, detain and delay letters, postal cards, packages, and mail entrusted to him and which came into his possession and which were intended to be conveyed by mail, carried and delivered as established by authority of the Postmaster General.
