Grand Island Man Sentenced for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

United States Attorney Joseph P. Kelly announced that on April 12, 2018, René Magana, 43 of Grand Island, was sentenced to 10 years (120 months) in prison for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.  Following the prison sentence, Magana will serve five years on supervised release.

On December 29, 2016, a search warrant was executed at Magana’s residence in Grand Island.  During that search, he was found in possession of at least 54 grams of actual (pure) methamphetamine along with a digital scale and small plastic self-seal baggies.

This case was investigated by the Central Nebraska Drug & Safe Streets Task Force.
