U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Nebraska
United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced that Robert Carodine, 34, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on October 25, 2024 in federal court in Omaha for one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine and 400 grams or more of fentanyl and one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced Carodine to 300 months’ imprisonment on each count. The sentences are to run concurrently. There is no parole in the federal system. After Carodine is released from prison, he will begin a 4-year term of supervised release. Carodine will also forfeit to the United States $25,299.00 in United States currency and jewelry and watches that were from drug proceeds.
In February 2022, law enforcement was tracking Carodine’s cell phone location data and observed that his phone traveled from Omaha, Nebraska, to Phoenix, Arizona. Based on an ongoing investigation, law enforcement believed Carodine traveled to Arizona for the purpose of trafficking controlled substances.
Carodine traveled to Arizona to purchase, package, and send narcotics to Nebraska. While in Arizona, Carodine mailed four boxes—two addressed to his residence in Omaha and two addressed to stash house in Omaha. The boxes weighed 39, 23, 37 and 37 pounds, respectively. When the boxes arrived in Omaha, agents obtained a search warrant to search the boxes. Inside the boxes agents recovered various quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. The boxes contained approximately 2.28 kilograms of cocaine, 8.09 kilograms of fentanyl, and 47.87 kilograms of methamphetamine.
On February 25, 2022, agents searched Carodine’s residence and apartment. In the residence, agents found cash, a Rolex, cannabis, and two firearms: a Springfield XSD 45 caliber semi-auto handgun found in a kitchen drawer, and a Boomer 44 revolver found in the master bedroom. In the apartment, agents found .45 caliber ammunition in a kitchen cabinet, a drug ledger in the kitchen, $16,499 in cash, 359.6 grams of methamphetamine in kitchen cabinets, marijuana, and another 2,095 grams of suspected cocaine.
