California Woman Sentenced on Drug Charge
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Myra Hight, 52, of Lake Tahoe, CA, who was convicted of marijuana conspiracy, was sentenced to time served and three years supervised release by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John M. Alsup, who handling the case, stated that the defendant was arrested on February 20, 2012 by Hamburg Police in the parking lot of a store in the Town of Hamburg. During a search of the car Hight was driving, officers recovered $77,000 in U.S. currency, money the defendant admitted was proceeds of her marijuana trafficking conspiracy.The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by the Hamburg Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Williams and the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Acting Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt, New York Field Division.
