Hispanic Heritage Month Commemoration

On October 1, 2020, AUSAs Agustin Orozco and Damaris Diaz worked with the Diversity Committeeto host a virtual panel discussion: Afro-Latinidad: A History, Tribute, and Celebration of Black Latinos in the United States and the Americas. The office welcomed two distinguished professors this year – Professor April Mayes, Chair of the History Department of Pomona College, and Professor Tanya Hernandez, Professor of Law at Fordham University Law School.  Despite the need to be virtual this year, participants listened to an informative discussion of the Afro-Latino experience and history.
