Smarter than a Scammer

On January 28, 2020, members of the office participated in the Glendale Police Department's "Smarter than a Scammer" event. The event provided an outreach opportunity for government-and community-based organizations to assist victims of potential fraud, more specifically elder fraud. Assistant United States Attorney Monica Tait, who serves as Deputy Chief of Major Frauds as well as our office’s Elder Justice Coordinator, spoke to the large crowd about various scams against seniors. AUSA Tait was joined by Supervisory Victim Witness Coordinator Allison Stafford who provided information to the event participants at our resource table.
