Student Positions
The United States Attorney's Office regularly offers recurring part-time Student Trainee positions with flexible schedules. These positions are temporary, not to exceed one year but may be extended. Students with majors including but not limited to, criminal justice, law enforcement, legal/paralegal studies, political science, policy studies and business management/administration are all encouraged to apply.
Assignments: Students provide clerical support to legal and administrative staff. Major duties consist of maintaining and duplicating files, sorting and distributing mail, making court runs, reception coverage, and completing rotational assignments and special projects with all office sections as needed.
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be a student, enrolled at least half time or accepted for enrollment in an accredited technical, vocational, 2 or 4-year college or university, graduate or professional school and pursuing a degree, diploma, or certificate.
- You must be a U.S. citizen.
- Selected students will be required to go through our pre-employment security background investigation process due to the sensitive nature of the office work. Approval for pre-employment background investigation waiver can take between four to six weeks. Students will not be permitted to begin work until a waiver has been received from our executive office.
