Burgers and Backpacks

The United States Attorney’s Office is a proud contributor to the annual Burgers and Backpacks school supplies drive for families in the English Avenue and Vine City communities of Atlanta, Georgia.  This free back-to-school event, hosted by the Greater Vine City Opportunities Program, Inc., English Avenue Neighborhood Association, Inc., and the Vertical Church, allows neighborhood families to enjoy games, giveaways, and receive free backpacks and school supplies before students return to elementary, middle and high schools.  Each year that our office has participated, our staff has donated hundreds of pencils, pens, pencil sharpeners, highlighters, boxes of crayons, erasers, scissors, index cards, glue sticks, composition notebooks, folders and more.
