United States Attorney Ron Parsons announced that a Rapid City, South Dakota, man convicted of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon was sentenced by Chief Judge Jeffrey L. Viken, U.S. District Court.
Rayford Featherman, age 69, was sentenced on August 9, 2018, to time served, 1 year of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Featherman was indicted for the charge by a federal grand jury in February 2014. The charge related to Featherman assaulting two females with a metal bat on September 5, 2013, in Oglala.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services. Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Kelderman prosecuted the case.
