Ontario, Ny Man Sentenced On Tax Charge

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Gerald Fretto, 51, of Ontario, NY, who was convicted of filing a false income tax return, was sentenced to three years probation and 100 hours of community service by Chief U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Bradley E. Tyler, who handled the case, stated that for the tax year 2007, the defendant filed a tax return that did not report all of the income he earned in that year.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation on the part of Special Agents of the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division, under the direction of Shantelle P. Kitchen, Special Agent in Charge, New York Field Office, and the  U.S. Postal Inspection Service, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Shelly Binkowski.
