BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. announced today that Fred Suchan, 33, of West Seneca, NY, who was convicted of distribution of oxycodone, was sentenced to 12 months home detention and three years probation by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank T. Pimentel, who handled the case, stated that on three dates in September and October 2010, the defendant sold or attempted to sell OxyContin and Opana tablets to an undercover police officer in a commercial parking lot on Abbott Road in Orchard Park. On the last occasion, officers seized a 9 mm rifle, a loaded 9 mm magazine, and additional 9 mm ammunition from Suchan’s vehicle.

The sentencing is the result of an investigation on the part of the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of James J. Hunt, Special Agent in Charge, New York Field Division, and the Orchard Park Police Department, under the direction of Chief Mark Pacholec.
