Biography : Chang-Tai Hsieh

Chang-Tai Hsieh is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. He previously held a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University. Hsieh has published several papers in top economic journals, including "Can Free Entry be Inefficient? Fixed Commissions and Social Waste in the Real Estate Industry," in the October 2003 issue of the Journal of Political Economy. He is currently a Faculty Research Fellow for the National Bureau of Economic Research, Co-Chair for the World Bank Research Department Advisory Committee, and a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Hsieh graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Ph.D. in Economics in 1998.
