Joseph Farrell Biography

Joseph Farrell is Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, former Editor of the Journal of Industrial Economics, and former President of the Industrial Organization Society.

Professor Farrell was Chief Economist at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 1996-1997, and later was Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Economics at the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice, 2000-2001. From 2001 to 2004 he served on the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board of the National Academies of Science.
