1130. 18 U.S.C. § 1832 Element One—The Defendant Stole, or Without Authorization of the Owner, Obtained, Destroyed, or Conveyed Information

The initial element of a criminal prosecution under § 1832 is identical to that under § 1831 which is set forth in the Criminal Resource Manual at 1125. In both cases the government must prove that the defendant obtained, destroyed or conveyed information without the authorization of the owner.
