Randy S. Grossman, Acting U.S. Attorney

Randy Grossman is the Acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California. Prior to his appointment as Acting U.S. Attorney, Mr. Grossman served in the office’s Border Enforcement Section, the Major Frauds and Public Corruption Section, and as First Assistant U.S. Attorney.

Mr. Grossman has practiced law for more than 25 years. In addition to his experience as a federal prosecutor, Mr. Grossman prosecuted criminal cases on behalf of the State of California for eight years at the San Diego County District Attorney’s office, during which time he tried more than seventy cases to jury verdict, including homicides and other violent crimes. He also represented clients for sixteen years in private practice at two international law firms, where his work included complex civil and criminal litigation in federal and state courts and pro bono representations of refugees seeking asylum. Mr. Grossman served his legal community as a member of the San Diego County Bar Association Legal Ethics Committee, President of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and Trustee for the Board of Trustees of California Western School of Law. 

Mr. Grossman earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the University of Arizona. He graduated magna cum laude from California Western School of Law and served as the Notes and Comments Editor for the California Western Law Review.
