Lower frequencies result in a coverage advantage This figure contains four maps of the United States showing the coverage areas of the four major nationwide wireless carriers, Verizon (using 850 MHz and 1900 MHz spectrum), AT&T (also using 800 MHz and 1900 MHz spectrum), Sprint and affiliates (using 1900 MHz spectrum only), and T-Mobile (also using 1900 MHz spectrum only). The Verizon and AT&T maps depict dark areas in more of the United States than for Sprint and T-Mobile, indicating a greater coverage area for the two carriers that have 800 MHz cellular spectrum. |
