Verizon Symposium Comments : Description Of The "Cable Rate Increases Since 1984" Graph

This graph shows that cable television rates have increased at a significantly higher rate than inflation. In 1985, cable had increased 6 percent and the rate of inflation was at 4 percent, relative to 1984. By 2007, cable rates had increased 238 percent since 1984, while the change in the rate of inflation for the same period was 99 percent. The source for this data is the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
