Wireless Broadband : Description Of The "Mobile Wireless Data Observed Performances, GSM Technology Family Examples" Graphs Shown In Slide 3
These two bar graphs show observed performances in terms of speeds in kilobits per second (kbps) for various mobile wireless data technologies in the GSM technology family. The first chart shows DL (downlink) throughput, which for GPRS is between 0 and about 100 kbps, for EDGE between about 100 and 250 kbps, for UMTS between about 200 and 350 kbps, and for HSDPA between 400 kbps to far in excess of 1500 kbps. The second chart shows UL (uplink) throughput, which for GPRS is between 0 and about 100 kpbs, for EDGE is between about 50 and 200 kbps, for UMTS between about 200 and 350 kbps, and for HSDPA between about 450 kbps and 1000 kbps. All ranges are very approximate. |
