2.7 - Immigration Specialists/Consultants

Immigration specialists – which include visa consultants and “notarios” – are not authorized to practice law or appear before the Board. These individuals are generally violating the law by practicing law without a license. As such, they do not qualify either as accredited representatives or “reputable individuals” under the regulations. See Chapters 2.4 (Accredited Representatives), 2.9(a) (Reputable Individuals). These individuals may be violating the law by practicing law without a license.
