7.1 - Overview
While the vast majority of proceedings conducted by immigration judges are removal proceedings, immigration judges have jurisdiction over other kinds of proceedings as well. This chapter provides a brief overview of these other kinds of proceedings. They include:
- deportation proceedings and exclusion proceedings
- rescission proceedings
- limited proceedings, including:
- credible fear proceedings
- reasonable fear proceedings
- claimed status review
- asylum-only proceedings
- withholding-only proceedings
- streamlined removal proceedings
