Comment on Pending Applicants to be Placed on the List of Pro Bono Legal Service Providers

The List of Pro Bono Legal Service Providers or the “List” (formerly known as the “List of Free Legal Service Providers”) is published quarterly (January, April, July, and October). The public is welcome to participate in commenting on the suitability of providers eligible to be placed on the List.  

Approximately one month before publication of the List, the names of attorneys, organizations, and pro bono referral services appearing to meet the regulatory requirements to be placed on the List will be made available to the public for a period of 15 days. The public will have 30 days from the date the names are first posted to submit comments. 8 CFR § 1003.63(f).

Any individual may contact EOIR with comments or recommendations for approval or disapproval of a prospective provider’s application. The commenter must provide his or her name and contact information. An exact copy of the comment must also be sent to the provider, who will have an opportunity to respond to unfavorable comments. 8 CFR § 1003.63(f).
