BANGOR, Maine: A Mexican national pleaded guilty and was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Bangor for entering the United States after a prior removal.
U.S. District Judge Stacey Neumann sentenced Juan Manuel Castro Loja, 20, to time served. Castro Loja has been incarcerated since Oct 21, 2024.
According to court records, on October 21, 2024, a U.S. Border Patrol Agent located Castro Loja in a van in Farmington. Immigration records show he was previously removed from the United States in April of 2024 after illegally crossing the southern border. Castro Loja had not obtained the express consent of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to reapply for admission.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection investigated the case.
