341 Meeting Questions:

Chapter 7 (personal filings) and Chapter 13 Debtors should bring their Social Security card and a photo identification card (see below for acceptable forms of photo identification).

Attendance is required and requests for rescheduled meetings should not be made unless absolutely necessary. Failure to appear at the rescheduled meeting may result in the dismissal of your case after notice and a hearing. If circumstances arise which prevent your appearance at the meeting, please contact the Chapter 7 or 13 Trustee's office whose name and telephone number appears on your meeting notice. If your case is a Chapter 11, you must contact the U.S. Trustee's office at (631) 715-7800. If absolutely necessary, a meeting can be adjourned, by noticing the scheduled creditors of the adjourned date. Proof of notice is comprised of the notice, affidavit of service and copy of the creditors mailing matrix. The original notice with attachments is to be electronically filed with the Bankruptcy Court and a hard copy provided to this office and the panel trustee (for ch. 7 or 13).

(2) Contact the trustee assigned to the case: Chapter 7 Trustees, Chapter 13 Trustees.

§ 341 meetings are not transcribed. Recordings are maintained for two years after the § 341 meeting is held. For a copy of recording, please contact Joann Lomangino of the Central Islip US Trustee staff (see Staff Directory).

If a transcription of the § 341 meeting is required, contact a court reporting agency of your choice.
