Assistant U. S. Attorney Positions

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York seeks to hire talented and dedicated attorneys for its Criminal and Civil Divisions who share the following attributes:  an excellent academic background, significant litigation experience, strong communication and analytical abilities, sound judgment and a sincere and demonstrated commitment to public service.  Requirements vary according to the needs of the Office, but generally at least three years of relevant post-J.D. legal work experience is required, such as work in a judicial clerkship, law firm, non-profit organization or other state or federal government office.  If hired, applicants are expected to serve in the Office for at least three years, although Assistant U. S. Attorneys typically remain in the Office for longer terms.
