Rhode Island Man Arrested For Interstate Travel to have Sex with a Minor

Portland, Maine:  United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that William McNeill, 23, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, was arrested yesterday in Massachusetts following his indictment in Maine on October 21, 2015 for travelling interstate on October 18, 2014 to have sex with a minor.

McNeill faces up to 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The joint investigation was conducted by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the Bridgton, Maine Police Department. 

An indictment is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
