Important Notices Related to the Effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria
- Section 341(a) Meetings of Creditors in the District of Puerto Rico that were previously cancelled because of Hurricanes Irma and Maria are being rescheduled. The meetings will be held beginning on Monday, November 6, 2017. If you are a debtor and have not received a notice regarding your rescheduled meeting of creditors please contact your attorney.
- Effective September 28, 2017, the Acting United States Trustee for Region 21 has temporarily waived the credit counseling and financial management education requirements for individual bankruptcy filers in the District of Puerto Rico due to the effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. These waivers are made pursuant to 11 U.S.C. § 109(h)(2)(A), 727(a)(11), and 1328(g)(2). The waivers will remain in effect until further notice.
