1785. Unlawful Flight To Avoid Service Of Process

The Fugitive Felon Act was amended in 1970 to include unlawful flight to avoid service of lawful process "requiring the giving of testimony or the production of documentary evidence before an agency of a State empowered by the law of such State to conduct investigations of alleged criminal activities. . . ." Unlawful flight to avoid contempt proceedings for alleged disobedience of the lawful process of a state agency was also brought under 18 U.S.C. § 1073 by the 1970 amendment.
