1946. 18 U.S.C. 1544 -- Misuse Of A Passport

Section 1544 of Title 18 proscribes the use or attempted use of someone else's passport, or its use in violation of any applicable regulation or law. It also proscribes giving one's passport to another for the other's use.

The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) amended this statute to provide for enhanced penalties if the offense was committed to facilitate an act of international terrorism or a drug trafficking crime.
