Since 1986, ICITAP's law enforcement development programs have helped strengthen the rule of law in fragile states and developing countries around the world.  See Historical Milestones.

ICITAP's expertise has grown over the years in response to three types of development challenges, each requiring a unique approach:

ICITAP works with foreign governments in these countries to develop law enforcement and corrections institutions through technical assistance and training in a broad range of areas, and its specialized expertise is continually expanding. See Subject Matter Expertise.
