The Western District of Washington

 Clallam, Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit, Skamania, Snohomish, Thurston, Wahkiakum, and Whatcom.

The United States Attorney for the Western District of Washington serves as trial counsel for the United States and the office represents the United States in criminal and civil lawsuits.

The office has a staff of approximately 76 Assistant U.S. Attorneys and 67 professional staff (View Organizational Chart). It includes a Criminal Division as well as a Civil Division.

The office prosecutes cases investigated by several law enforcement agencies in Western Washington, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms & Explosives (ATF), Department of Homeland Security - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS-ICE), U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS).

The office also handles most civil claims made against the U.S. Government, pursues affirmative civil cases on its behalf including certain civil rights cases and collects debts owed to the United States.

The main office is located in Seattle. A branch office is located in Tacoma.
