Office of Administration

The Office of Administration provides administrative and managerial support in several areas concerning financial management or special emphasis and compliance programs. Specifically, the Office of Administration supports the following areas: appropriations, budget and financial management, contracts and procurement, human resources, security, space and facilities management, and logistics.


Meet the Assistant Director  

Michael Tennyson

Michael Tennyson was appointed as the EOIR Acting Assistant Director, Office of Administration, in January 2025. Mr. Tennyson earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1995, summa cum laude, from George Mason University. Mr. Tennyson joined EOIR in May 2016 serving as the Program Director of the Planning, Analysis and Statistics Division. From 2014 to 2016, he served as a Branch Chief/Supervisory Immigration Officer at the National Security Division’s Fraud Detection and National Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). From 2009 to 2014, he served as the Unit Chief of the Strategy and Operations Analysis team at the Law Enforcement and Systems Analysis, formerly Secure Communities, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), DHS. From 2001 to 2009, he served in various capacities as a senior policy analyst and program analyst at the Office of Policy and Planning, ICE, DHS. From 1995 to 2001, he was an asylum officer at the former Immigration and Naturalization Service and was an immigration specialist at the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services. Assistant Director Tennyson joined the U.S. Navy in 1983 and served until 1993 both in active duty and the reserve.
