Making Wyoming Neighborhoods Safer with the Help of the U.S. Felon in Possession of a Firearm Law

See links below to actual cases.

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is a nationwide public safety initiative that brings together federal, state, and local law enforcement officials and community partners to address violent crime through collaborative strategies.

The Wyoming PSN Leadership Committee is made up of federal, state, and local partners, and is committed to identifying the most significant violent crime challenges and developing comprehensive solutions by implementing four core design elements: community engagement, prevention and intervention, focused and strategic enforcement, and accountability. Wyoming’s PSN strategy is specifically tailored to local needs and designed to strengthen coordination among public safety partners at every level. By integrating resources, intelligence, and enforcement efforts, Wyoming’s PSN program amplifies the ability to identify and target violent offenders and criminal organizations operating within the state – ultimately enhancing public safety across Wyoming communities.

The U.S. Attorney’s office is committed to prosecuting cases under our PSN Strategy that have the most positive local impact. On average, 25% of our filed cases involve federal firearm offenses, and nearly 50% of our case referrals come from state and local law enforcement. These offenders are involved in other criminal conduct in the vast majority of cases, negatively impacting communities across Wyoming. When deciding what federal firearm cases to prosecute, the U.S. Attorney’s office works closely with our law enforcement partners to ensure we are prosecuting the most dangerous recidivists and protecting local Wyoming communities.

The value of these federal-local partnerships under PSN are partially demonstrated in the cases listed below.
